  • The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a recall of more than 80,000 McCafé Premium Roast Decaf K-Cup pods sold in Indiana, California & Nevada following a labeling error that may have introduced full-caffeine coffee.   • Elkhart Community Schools approved Michele A. Riise as the new superintendent; she will take office on July 1 and brings over 38 years of public education experience to lead local schools.  ABC 57

  • WNDU meteorologists reported on Jan. 27 that drifting snow and heavy winds made travel hazardous — conditions that continue to affect local roads today. Officials advise drivers to remain cautious as adverse weather persists.  16 News Now

  • Elkhart emergency management officials warned residents that warmer temperatures over the next several days may cause ice jams along local rivers that can lead to rapid flooding, so they advise moving equipment and valuables away from low-lying areas and reporting rising water.  16 News Now

HEALTH NEWS

  • Goshen Health has signed a letter of intent to partner with Parkview Health — the plan is expected to expand services and capacity and may boost job opportunities once regulators approve the deal. Leaders say the integration will help serve more patients regionally.  WSBT
