  • Notre Dame students built an ice chapel and hosted a community mass on campus today, inviting local residents to gather for a unique winter celebration.  16 News Now

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • NIPSCO is offering budget billing, flexible payment plans (three-, six-, or twelve-month options), and multiple energy assistance programs to help eligible customers manage rising energy costs, with applications due by 5 p.m. on April 14. Local households meeting income criteria can sign up for LIHEAP, Hardship, SERV, or SILVER benefits.  WSBT
  • The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office warns drivers to avoid the U.S. 20 Bypass from Middlebury to State Road 19 due to freezing rain that is creating icy conditions.  WSBT
  • The Elkhart City Council approved the DORA ordinance last Monday night, establishing designated outdoor drinking zones downtown for alcoholic to-go beverages — over 15 local businesses have applied and implementation is set to begin within 90 days with varying operating hours.  WSBT
