- ➤ Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash when a 2008 Hyundai Santa-Fe driven by a 62-year-old Middlebury man left the roadway and hit a tree on the north side of the 10000 block of C.R. 4 around 5:38 p.m. on Thursday—he suffered life-threatening head injuries including severe bleeding and a two-inch laceration to his forehead and was taken to Memorial Hospital for evaluation. - ➤ Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of C.R. 40 and C.R. 9 on Friday at 9:18 a.m.—when 77-year-old Jack Parkhurst in a Ford Escape disregarded a stop sign and was hit by a 35-year-old Chevy Silverado driver—resulting in a 66-year-old passenger being treated for chest pain while Parkhurst was cited. - ➤ At 8:40 p.m. Thursday, police said a resident reported gunfire at 354 Wagner Ave when her apartment was hit by a bullet and officers later found damage on an air conditioning unit at 355 Wagner Ave and on two vehicles—no injuries occurred. ABC 57
