GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Yesterday, Congressman Rudy Yakym visited the RV Technical Institute in Elkhart to hear industry leaders discuss tariffs and job challenges facing the county's top employer. He said he will take their concerns to Washington—while a Where's Rudy rally is held today at noon outside his Mishawaka office.  ABC 57
  • Indiana Gov. Mike Braun said the Senate’s property tax relief bill lacks the true relief he promised and he may veto it if the House does not add protections (local counties and cities might lose extra revenue) as lawmakers work on a balanced two-year budget. He also warned that high Medicaid costs and road funding issues, including possible toll highways (decisions expected by late April), will force tough spending cuts.  WSBT
