- ➤ The new Connect transit routes and schedules will take effect on June 2—these updates include a faster ride on route 30 between downtown South Bend and downtown Elkhart and timed connections to improve regional travel. - ➤ Elkhart Police held their annual Peace Officers Memorial service on Friday to honor fallen officers and remember those who died in the line of duty — Congressman Rudy Yakym acknowledged heroic actions during the Martin’s Supermarket shooting and noted that the event took place ahead of National Police Week from May 12 to May 18.
