- ➤ After storms hit last Thursday and Friday, Indiana Michigan Power said nearly all customers had power restored by Saturday evening—about 2,300 remained without electricity. Midwest Energy reported that 567 customers were still in the dark on Sunday morning and crews worked late Saturday to repair more than 190 damaged poles. WSBT

- ➤ The defending champions will begin their season with a home game against the Northwest Indiana Oilmen on Wednesday, June 4 at 6 p.m. at the Elkhart Athletic Complex. During Opening Week on Friday, June 6, kids 12 and under will get free admission and have the option to take the field during the National Anthem while proceeds from the Griffith General game support teacher classroom supplies — additional Family Friday events are set for June 27 and Aug. 1.
