- ➤ Elkhart County 4-H Fairgrounds will expand in September after the summer fair to upgrade camping and add a new medical safety facility and a 47,000 sqft ag and expo center named for Forest River and Peter J. Liegl. The groundbreaking is Friday, Sept. 11. ABC 57
- ➤ Brittney Stover, a Kent Ohio resident, lost a cherished family ring at a Middlebury hotel on Easter weekend. After she reached out via the 574 Nosey Neighbors Facebook group, hotel staff secured the ring for family pick-up, highlighting social media & community power. ABC 57
- ➤ The Humane Society presented Mookie, a 3-year-old dog looking for her furever home on 16 News Now at Noon yesterday. Today, scattered thunderstorms with wind gusts up to 60 mph and small hail are expected after 3 p.m. across the region, according to First Alert Weather Day. 16 News Now

- ➤ Severe storms knocked down trees Monday afternoon — leaving hundreds without power in Michiana. Indiana Michigan Power and Midwest Energy and Communications expect service to be restored by Tuesday night. WSBT

- ➤ The Elkhart Municipal Band (in its 88th season) held a free children's concert at the Lerner Theatre on Sunday, featuring playful pieces such as a rubber chicken performance to engage young audiences. The band will hold its first summer concert on June 2 in McNaughton Park. ABC 57
- ➤ Phoenix Performing Arts will debut the Tony-nominated musical Come from Away at The Goshen Theater at 216 S Main Street in Goshen, with performances scheduled Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. ABC 57

- ➤ Bremen High School's food science class received a $1,000 grant from Martin’s Super Markets as its students study culinary techniques and agriculture while the school year winds down. 16 News Now
- ➤ Amazon partnered with New Prairie High School to open the first Think Big Space in Indiana on Monday. The new lab offers robotics, media center, and podcast studio to help students develop STEM skills and prepare for future careers. WSBT
- ➤ The Building Strong Brains Coalition will launch Countdown to Kindergarten—an eight-week free summer program starting Tuesday, May 26 for Elkhart County students entering kindergarten this fall. ABC 57
