ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Tuesday at 3:48 p.m., deputies responded to an accident on C.R. 30 east of C.R. 9 after a 21-year-old Elkhart man’s 2025 Toyota Camery hit a buildup of water — hydroplaned, rolled several times, and stopped in a ditch — and he was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with non-life-threatening neck injuries.  ABC 57

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Elkhart County commissioners approved two agreements with Northern Biogas to advance a landfill expansion project that will turn trash into renewable natural gas—this approval allows for up to a third expansion and gives two five-year extension options for the project.  16 News Now
  • On Wednesday, the Roseland Police Department welcomed new officer K9 Nyx—she is training with her handler and will soon be seen on patrol.  ABC 57
  • A pavement problem on Elkhart's east side forced the city to close all lanes from County Road 15 to Middleton Run Road after a water main break caused settling on Middlebury Street on May 21. City officials expect to reopen one lane in each direction by the end of the week.  WSBT
