  • The county of Elkhart is hosting Lemonade Day on June 7 to give young entrepreneurs a chance to learn business skills and share profits with charities — local businesses and community spaces known as sweet spots will host the event.  ABC 57
  • Cook's Bison Ranch in Wolcottville hosted a tour today that let visitors see around 40 bison during the birthing season—wagon rides cost $10 for adults and $8 for children.  ABC 57

CULTURE NEWS

  • Lerner Theater in Elkhart is marking its 100th anniversary today with free seating on a first come, first serve basis—performances by Epic Dance Studios will showcase popular dances from the past ten decades at 3 p.m.  WSBT
  • The annual Hall of Heroes Comic Con returned to Elkhart this weekend, featuring vintage comics, toys, collectible artwork and celebrity guests for fans. The event ran Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is running today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Northern Indiana Event Center — where iconic vehicles like the 1960s Batmobile are on display.  WSBT

  • The St. Joseph County Police Department announced on May 31 that retired Walkerton Police Officer Jim Christie passed away. He served for 30 years in Walkerton and began his career in the 1980s in Osceola—his daughter said he remained active until his death.  WSBT
