- ➤ Meow Mission is asking locals to rehome at least 35 abandoned cats from Oak Grove Trailer Park in Mishawaka—more will be left when residents are forced to leave on June 8th, and the group provides transportation and equipment while volunteers supply food, water, and shelter. WSBT
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 74-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized after being hit near the Spring Mill Drive and Montrose Park Drive intersection on June 3 at 9:52 a.m. when 37-year-old John Karbalaeali, driving a 2002 Dodge Ram, disregarded a stop sign — the victim sustained cuts to his face and arms. ABC 57

- ➤ Indiana State Senator Mike Bohacek is accused of being nearly three times over the legal limit after a January traffic stop near Panda Express in Michigan City — his test showed a .283 blood alcohol level and he was not arrested due to constitutional protection while the legislature was in session. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Ivy Tech announced that 202 jobs will be cut statewide due to a 5% funding reduction; at the South Bend-Elkhart campus, 11 positions—8 staff and 3 faculty—will be affected. Affected employees will receive separation packages. WSBT

- ➤ Mayor Rod Roberson and local officials updated residents on Tuesday about the city's largest infrastructure investment—a converging sewer overflow storage tank project with five 1.7 million gallon tanks designed to reduce storm water runoff into the local rivers—a project that will also include a public green space and a bike path connecting Nappanee Street to downtown.
