- ➤ Ziegler's Farm in North Liberty is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for U-Pick strawberry season, but with the first week ended, the farm has one week remaining as cool mornings and warm afternoons made the strawberries big & red. Customers can pick strawberries in boxes holding between 5 & 6 pounds for $17 and pay with cash or check. WSBT
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Elkhart Fire Department answered a call for a house fire at 1419 Navajo Street Tuesday at 1:50 p.m.—crews saw heavy smoke from the attic and confirmed all three occupants had evacuated—and controlled the second story fire in about 20 minutes while the blaze remains under investigation. - ➤ A woman’s car was stolen from her home garage in Elkhart County when a group of four thieves used a garage opener to quickly take it, leaving it with scrapes, a busted rim and other damage before it was later recovered with the help of her son using a spare key — police continue the investigation.
