ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A three vehicle accident on the 800 block of North Main Street in Goshen yesterday afternoon left Grace Beard, aged 24, dead and two drivers injured as police began investigating the incident.  WSBT
  • A house was damaged by fire in Elkhart on June 18th; firefighters rescued two cats (and no injuries were reported).  16 News Now

CULTURE NEWS

  • Today, the Elkhart Jazz Festival kicks off downtown with more than 100 performers including headliners Diana Krall, the Headhunters and the Yellowjackets and is expected to draw 15,000 to 20,000 visitors. Festival acts will be held on outdoor + indoor stages until Sunday afternoon.  WSBT
  • A new episode of Rv There Yet? will air this Saturday at 8:30 a.m. on the Discovery Channel & feature Elkhart as the crew visits the Hall of Heroes: Superhero Museum. The show also highlights the 100-year celebration at the Lerner Theatre & showcases the city's rich history.  16 News Now
  • The Midwest Museum of American Art in downtown Elkhart is debuting two new exhibits this weekend — one alongside the Elkhart Jazz Festival and another that highlights photography history through people and places.  16 News Now

  • ABC57’s Julianne Grohowski reported storm damage in Michiana on Wednesday — many areas had downed trees and power lines. In Goshen, local residents cleared a tree from South Main Street to reopen the road.  ABC 57
  • Edwardsburg began cleanup after Tuesday night's storm that dropped up to four inches of rain between Granger and Edwardsburg—causing damage in the area.  16 News Now
