- ➤ On June 20, officers responded to a call from the 52000 block of Conestoga Court in Granger after a local six-year-old, believed to be autistic and non-verbal, went missing and was found unresponsive in a neighborhood pool around 9:02 p.m.—despite life-saving efforts, he passed away and authorities are treating the case as an accidental drowning. - ➤ Kroger announced it will close 60 stores nationwide, including the South Bend Western Ave location and the Elkhart Johnson Street store, with local closures scheduled for early August.
