- ➤ At approximately 2:28 p.m. today, 62-year-old Martin Lee Wheeler of Elkhart lost control of his motorcycle near the intersection of U.S. 12 and Birch Road in Porter Township — he left the roadway at high speed, fell into a ditch, did not wear a helmet, and was transported to Elkhart General Hospital with drugs and alcohol ruled out.
