First responders from Goshen and Elkhart held a friendly two-game baseball series Saturday at Cook Station Park in Millersburg to raise funds for First Light Mission—Goshen's only homeless shelter, with the championship game beginning at 10:30 a.m.

WWE fans met retired wrestlers Dan ‘The Beast’ Severn and Fred ‘Typhoon’ Ottman during a meet and greet at Texas Roadhouse in Elkhart on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.—the event was part of the Head Lock for Hunger fundraiser benefiting Church Community Services Food Bank.

On July 11 at 8:30 p.m., a Ford F-250 driven by a 33-year-old man lost control after multiple overcorrections on Toledo Road east of Meadowood Drive and flipped several times, and the driver was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with neck and shoulder pain—alcohol and drugs are suspected as factors.

Today at 10 a.m., the Elkhart Environmental Center is hosting a pollinator-themed fun run on its four acre wildflower prairie.

The event features a costume contest, speed walking race and scavenger hunt with a $1 entry fee per contest and prizes available — vendors, snacks and games will also be on offer.
