- ➤ Concord Community Schools announced that Jeff Petty has been selected as the new principal of Concord High School pending school board approval on August 4, and he has served as a math teacher and assistant principal at the school since 2018 + he also coached sports teams. ABC 57
- ➤ Concord High School has named Jeff Petty as its new principal pending board approval—Petty previously served as an assistant principal—and he will start his job in the upcoming school year. This change comes as the school prepares for a fresh leadership transition. WSBT
- ➤ New Prairie United School District officials asked lawmakers to clarify background check rules after LifeWise Academy set plans to pull students off school grounds for Bible classes — the district is considering policy changes to better protect student safety. WSBT
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The St. Joseph County Health Department is reapplying for the Safety PIN Grant—funding programs like home visits and free maternal classes—to support local moms and babies. Data from last month show the state’s infant mortality rate in 2024 dropped to 6.3 deaths per 1,000 live births, yet challenges remain in the county. ABC 57
