- ➤ A home on the 600 block of South 8th Street in Elkhart caught fire just before midnight on Friday—fire crews brought the blaze under control, removed several pets, and reported no injuries as they investigated the cause. WSBT

- ➤ The Elkhart Environmental Center will bring its 28th annual EnviroFest to Island Park on Aug. 8 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The festival will offer food, drinks, live music by Memphis Underground, animal shows by Indiana Wild, free workshops, vendors and family activities. ABC 57
