COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Homeowners in northeastern Elkhart County say a tornado siren has remained broken since a March storm damaged its electronics. Cleveland Township officials say they are waiting for Federal Field Services to repair the siren—neighbors worry the system may not warn them of severe weather. WSBT

- ➤ Police say Donte Reese—a 37-year-old man missing since July 17—has been located and is safe. 16 News Now
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Saint Joseph High School principal John Kennedy said he is excited about the high enrollment as the new school year begins + he added that the growing student body is set to boost school programs. 16 News Now
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ St. Joseph County Council sent the Community First Investment Ordinance to the budget and administration committee for further discussion. The measure will require companies seeking tax abatements to submit US Equal Employment and Title 7 paperwork along with federal and state forms – protecting local workers before the council reviews proposals on September 9th. - ➤ Elkhart broke ground on its first new firehouse in 20 years Monday morning to shorten emergency response times in the northeast area where ambulances currently come from the central station—located on Waterfall Drive. City officials say the new station will have an on-site ambulance and is expected to be finished by September. ABC 57
