- ➤ Elkhart County Parks will host its Creatures of the Night program on August 28 at Ox Bow County Park—Black Maple Shelter from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. The free event will let attendees aged 12 and older learn about moths through a talk by expert Andy Ammons and a mothing station with illuminated sheets. - ➤ Cobus Creek County Park will host an overnight campout that offers breakfast and lunch for campers seeking a night under the stars. The event will run from 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29th to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at 30680 C.R. 8 in Elkhart—pre-registration is required. WSBT

- ➤ Today, Elkhart hosts Lerner on the Lawn—a free outdoor music event held at Central Green next to the Lerner Theatre where locals can enjoy live tunes at sunset. Jenna Brouillette, Marketing and Communications Manager with the Lerner, said the relaxed concert is set for later today. 16 News Now

- ➤ The Town of Middlebury announced that construction will soon begin on a new water tower downtown, with a temporary fence in place and the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail parking lot closed until the project is completed in late 2026 — officials added that a new trailhead parking lot will be built and West Spring Street will be used to deliver materials — to ensure easier site access.
