- ➤ Two people died and two others were injured in a four-vehicle crash that happened Friday morning at the County Road 17—County Road 40 intersection, and police suspect one vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. 16 News Now

- ➤ During a traffic stop on Aug. 24, 29-year-old Antoine DeBerry was charged with Intimidation, Battery Against a Public Safety Official, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, and Resisting Law Enforcement after pulling a deputy's beard+ his first court hearing is set for Sept. 5. ABC 57
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Two bands performed at the final 'Fridays by the Fountain' event in Seitz Park (drawing local fans) yesterday. The show ended the summer series (a tradition many looked forward to) and closed a well-loved chapter in Elkhart. 16 News Now

- ➤ Concord High School students celebrated the sale of their first home on Aug. 29th—marking a milestone in their real estate learning program. The achievement provided the students with real-world experience in handling a property transaction from start to finish. 16 News Now

- ➤ St. Joseph County and the City of South Bend revised their budgets after expected cuts from Senate Bill One. Both governments set flat budgets and imposed soft hiring freezes to maintain services for 2026—St. Joseph County will hold a public hearing on September 9th. WSBT
