Elkhart Parks & Recreation has revived its Halloween youth program that teaches kids ages 8 to 12 essential skills like first aid, wilderness survival, and teamwork with training on Oct.
4 and a zombie simulation on Oct. 11 — registration costs $20 per child.

Elkhart County Historical Museum will host Indiana Historical Society’s traveling exhibit Hoosiers & Their Hooch: Perspectives on Prohibition starting Oct.
1 and running through Nov. 13, showcasing artifacts and images that tell the story of prohibition from the temperance movement to the Great Depression. Dragon’s Mouth Distillery will hold a whiskey tasting in Elkhart on Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. with reservations required.
