- ➤ Elkhart will host the 13th Annual Trunk or Treat event at Island Park on October 11 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.—families can enjoy trick-or-treating from decorated trunks hosted by local businesses and community groups as they enter via the Sycamore Street bridge. ABC 57
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Elkhart received a $12 million grant from the Lilly Endowment to redevelop the Benham Neighborhood and Woodland Crossing retail center into a mixed-use area with nearly 400 new housing units and upgraded retail, healthcare and education services as part of a plan exceeding $110 million. Groundbreaking on the South Main block will take place this spring—marking a key step in the city’s growth. WSBT
