- ➤ Local parents organized a campaign to end bullying in schools and meet with State Representative Dale DeVon and State Senator Linda Rogers today at 112 Lexington Ave in downtown Elkhart to review safer reporting measures after bullying incidents increased by 41% last year. The event will also teach parents to recognize signs of mental distress and discuss stronger school intervention plans. WSBT

- ➤ Amazon's new robotic fulfillment center in Elkhart County, an 800,000 sq ft modern facility that opened last month, now employs over 1000 local workers and hundreds of robots sort packages. - ➤ Elkhart Community Schools superintendent Dr. Larry Huff (aiming to avoid a future budget shortfall) announced on October 14 that the board approved a consolidation study to address low classroom use and rising costs. He said the study will review each school based on factors (including debt, capacity and transportation) and community input will be required before any decision is finalized. WSBT
- ➤ On Wednesday night, Elkhart Community Schools Superintendent Dr. Larry Huff spoke to parents at Adamsville Road Church on County Road 7 about the district's progress in enrollment, finances and staffing; he said more presentations will be scheduled later this month for those who could not attend.
