- ➤ Downtown Goshen will host the Light Parade on Friday, November 7 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. — the event will extend into the weekend with light displays, shopping deals, and a Holiday Open House on November 9. ABC 57
- ➤ Local businesses in Elkhart are helping families face delays in SNAP benefits this month. Freshieez Pizza has launched an Adopt-a-Family program that offers a full dinner and $500 gift card for every 25 $20 donations while a countywide feed campaign has raised funds for food pantries—both efforts supporting those affected by the shutdown. - ➤ SNAP payment delays and reduced benefits left many families in Elkhart and across Michiana struggling to pay bills and buy food. The Salvation Army and Elkhart Community Schools are running a food drive until Nov. 24—neighbors are coming together to help. 16 News Now

- ➤ On Monday, the Penn-Harris-Madison Superintendent and district administration presented a tentative teachers’ agreement that raises the overall base salary by about 3.45% and sets the starting salary for new teachers at $50,000. The School Board will vote on the agreement next Monday—if approved, the changes will benefit teachers. WSBT

- ➤ The Penn-Harris-Madison school board held a special meeting on Monday morning to announce a new Penn Township representative—this member will fill the vacancy left after Matt Chaffee resigned. WSBT
