  • Beacon Health System is partnering with Cultivate Food Rescue and local hospitals to deliver thousands of frozen meals to families in need today — Kimberly Green Reeves, Mary Wendt, and Jim Conklin support the effort to ease hunger in our area.  16 News Now
  • AAA released a Thanksgiving travel forecast that predicts Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday will be the busiest travel days and advised airport travelers to arrive two hours early while urging drivers to have their vehicles checked for battery, tires and fluids. The agency recommended that air travelers pack carry-on bags to help avoid delays.  16 News Now
  • Maytag Brand volunteers served a Thanksgiving meal to 300 children at the Boys and Girls Club on November 20 — the event provided a boost of holiday support for local families.  16 News Now

  • Goshen firefighters have welcomed a comfort dog named Maple to support their team during distress calls—she is still training and will complete certification in the next two to three months to provide help to both the station and the community.  WSBT

HEALTH NEWS

  • St. Joseph County Health Department urges residents to get their flu shots as new virus variants may drive higher flu cases this season. The department advises covering your mouth while sneezing + staying home if sick ahead of Thanksgiving gatherings.  WSBT
  • Memorial Hospital thanked its associates by distributing 9,000 turkeys on Thursday as a sign of gratitude for their year-long dedication — remaining turkeys will be donated to local food banks to help families in need.  WSBT

  • A list of Michiana restaurants will offer dine-in, pick-up, and pre-order options for Thanksgiving meals, with venues like Cracker Barrel in Elkhart adjusting hours and special menus available.
